Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with Crowns over the past 12 months and beyond.

I really appreciated the hard work everyone has put in, the last minute cover, the long commutes, the new ideas, the enthusiasm, the funny stories (there have been quite a few) and the willingness for people to go above and beyond what was asked.

Our clients have also been awesome. Referrals have been, by far, our largest source of New Business and while we work hard to deliver the service practices have come to expect, it is only through the willingness to share our name with others that we grow. So thank you.

Can’t wait for 2012, looking forward to the opportunities, the challenges, getting to work with new and old faces and growing Crowns. These are very exciting times.

First things first though, Christmas and New Years Eve are nearly here and should be enjoyed.

So make sure you eat too much, drink too much, do too little and dance, whenever the opportunities requires it… and on occasions when it doesn’t.

Have Fun.

Rob.

PS. Yep, the phone will still be on throughout the festive period, anything we can do, give us a call 01274 722122.

Imagine, if you will

Always being on call and as such always available.

That’s 24 hours and day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year.

Crazy.

However, your always accountable 24/7/365.

Something goes wrong with what your working on, even out side of office hours, it still remains your problem.

Maybe worth considering that. Yes 24 hour a day working is fruitless and even dangerous.

But underestimate your accountability and that can do your career, business, finances an awful lot of harm as well!

Its not Cogs any more, its Artists.

‘Honestly, if someone gave me the opportunity i wouldn’t let them down”.

I am told this by many job applicants. I believe their intentions are quite true, and nine times out of ten these people will work really hard and indeed wouldn’t let anyone down.

But if business was about not letting people down, if that was the simple rule for success, whatever you did all you had to do was not let people down, well we would all be successful in business.

But my ford focus, doesn’t let me down. The semi detached house I live in, doesn’t let me down and my electric lawn mower, never ‘let’ me down.

I would love a ferrari, a detached house with a lake would be nice, oh and a swimming pool and if you have every used a petrol lawn mower, you will never go back to electric… trust me.

We can’t just be reliable.  Its not good enough. Reliable can be turned mechanical or automated and then become consistent and replicated. Its therefore pretty much the least one can expect.

Now an Artist.

Artists don’t have to be artist in the sense of a paint brush wielding student. No an artist is someone whose passion outstrips their demands for reliable results. Artist will want more than success, they want ownership, they want responsibility, influence and are happy with their accountability and the outcomes.

They love what they do and would do it for free if they need to and they will find an audience for it, whatever it takes.

Oh and Artists, don’t ask for opportunities, they just get on and take them.

Failing to Fail.

Is that because you aren’t trying anything new? Pushing boundaries and stretching ideas.

Sure success is the most important conclusion.

Although once concluding one task, you must move onto the next and these must change and evolve.

These cannot, or probably not always succeed and failure is part of the evolution and development.

No failure, no evolution!!!
